The difference between those who fail and those who succeed… is IMPACT!
After many years of studying the greatest players in the world, I founded Impact Zone Golf, where our goal is to enhance and accelerate the enjoyment and learning of the game of golf.
I enjoyed a spectacular amateur and collegiate career, with many of my records still standing today. I turned professional at 20, after my junior year at BYU. I played the tour for 16 years before transitioning to a golf analyst and commentator in the mid 90’s to 2010. In 2008 I founded Impact Zone Golf – my revolutionary system that concentrates on improving a players impact position rather than their “style” of swing.
Prior to co-founding Impact Zone Golf with Bobby in 2008, I had a 25-year career in the high-tech industry and was a member of the executive team of one of the world’s leading software companies. Driven by a passion to help others become successful, I underwent extensive post-graduate training to become a certified executive coach and to be a part of the International Coaching Federation. Besides having the opportunity to have coached many leaders and top talent in both Global 100 companies as well as small businesses, I have become a Certified HeartMath and Focus Band Coach. Using my knowledge and experience working with top performers, I now coach our golfing students to help them be their best, both on and off the course. When I am not coaching, you’ll find me overseeing strategy as well as the operations of the organization, making sure everyone has what they need to be the best in their role.

“Embrace Your Game!”
I believe in helping students understand who they are as a player and creating a vision of how they can be the best player they can be. My passion comes from helping my students create a foundation of the game and creating a roadmap to reach their potential. As a former player, I have used my past experiences in order to help my students master their own game. It is all about engaging in the process because the results will take care of themselves.
Teaching Philosophy: Student-centered and holistic approach in understanding who that person is rather than just teaching them golf. My goal is to bring the joy this game offers to my students – the same joy as it has brought to me.

Lloyd Johnson, Impact Zone® Lead Master Instructor
Over the last 25 years, in an effort to become a truly professional instructor and coach, I have studied not only the various aspects of the game of golf but also the best ways to teach the game. I believe the best way for me to accomplish my objective was to study with the best teachers in the business I began this process by devoting myself to the study of the golf swing working 10 years alongside Dr. Jim Suttie, who has been named as one of the best golf instructors in America. Other influential teachers I have learned from include Mac O’Grady, Lynn Blake, George Kelinhoffer, Jim Flick and Todd Anderson.
I now have the privilege of learning from Bobby Clampett, as well as working alongside him as an Impact Zone Lead Master Instructor, in his ‘Impact-based’® teaching, which has been a revolution in the teaching industry. Impact-based teaching gets at the core of what is happening at impact and making adjustments that directly improve impact and yield great results for students.
I have incorporated into my teaching the best that each of my teachers had to offer, by way of insights into the game and methods of teaching. I have also adopted the most up-to-date electronic teaching aids into my programs. The ability to actually see the changes that can be made, in the various aspects of their swing and impact, allows my students to more effectively work on the changes. Those changes will improve their game and by doing so increase their pleasure and appreciation for the sport.
I believe the lessons learned, through working with some of the greatest teachers of the game, coupled with modern technology, have given me the ability to help EVERY golfer. Whether you’re a beginner or a touring professional, I have no doubt that I can make you a better golfer.
