The difference between those who fail and those who succeed… is IMPACT!
After many years of studying the greatest players in the world, I founded Impact Zone Golf, where our goal is to enhance and accelerate the enjoyment and learning of the game of golf.
I enjoyed a spectacular amateur and collegiate career, with many of my records still standing today. I turned professional at 20, after my junior year at BYU. I played the tour for 16 years before transitioning to a golf analyst and commentator in the mid 90’s to 2010. In 2008 I founded Impact Zone Golf – my revolutionary system that concentrates on improving a players impact position rather than their “style” of swing.
Prior to co-founding Impact Zone Golf with Bobby in 2008, I had a 25-year career in the high-tech industry and was a member of the executive team of one of the world’s leading software companies. Driven by a passion to help others become successful, I underwent extensive post-graduate training to become a certified executive coach and to be a part of the International Coaching Federation. Besides having the opportunity to have coached many leaders and top talent in both Global 100 companies as well as small businesses, I have become a Certified HeartMath and Focus Band Coach. Using my knowledge and experience working with top performers, I now coach our golfing students to help them be their best, both on and off the course. When I am not coaching, you’ll find me overseeing strategy as well as the operations of the organization, making sure everyone has what they need to be the best in their role.
I grew up learning to play the game at Deerfield Resort, in LaFollette TN, which was the first golf course that Bobby Clampett designed. Deerfield is also where I worked my first job in the golf business. I knew I wanted to be a golf coach, so I moved to Florida to pursue my dream. I studied under the top instructors in the country and have given over 2,500 lessons in the last 4 years utilizing the latest and greatest technology. I believe anyone, at any age, dexterity, etc., can learn to play the game better and have more fun. I am Studio Manager and Master Instructor at our World Headquarters in Naples, FL.
Growing up golf has always been a big part of my life. Starting at age 5, I began to play all kinds of sports which has helped me develop the athletic skills needed for golf. I believe golf presents a lot of great opportunities for juniors that they can take down the road for many years. Golf has taught me a lot of the life lessons I have learned as well as great experiences with family/friends. As Director of Junior Programming my goal is to keep growing the game of golf and help juniors create the opportunities I had. I was very fortunate to go to Penn State University and play competitively on the Varsity Women’s Golf Team. After college I decided to turn professional and competed on the Mini tours for 2 years. With my competitive background and knowledge of the game, I hope to help juniors find passion for the game as I have. Impact Zone Golf Junior Academy is a great opportunity for juniors to develop skills, make lasting memories, and be part of a great community. I am a proud US Kids Golf Certified Coach and USKG Naples Local Tour Director.
I am the founder of Par Breakers Golf Academy and have been teaching golf since 1998. I am certified in Putting Zone, along with Golf Channel Swing Fix Instructor, Putting Zone Certified Coach, EyeLine 4 Elements Certified Instructor, US Kids Golf Certified Instructor, Golf Fit Certified Fitness Instructor, Mizuno Certified Club Fitter, and 3 Jack D-Plane Certified. I am also the founder and Host of Breaking Par a weekly golf instruction podcast on iTunes.
I have been a PGA Professional for 33 years and have been the Director of Instruction at Bay Colony Golf Club in Naples for the past five years. I have been fortunate to be the Director of Golf at some of the finest golf facilities in America including Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Sherwood Country Club in Westlake Village, CA; Doral Resort in Miami; Governors Club in Chapel Hill, NC and TwinEagles in Naples. I’ve given over 20,000 lessons/clinics to golfers of all ages and skill levels. I just completed my 8th year as the Boys Varsity Golf Coach at The Community School of Naples (CSN). Our teams finished in the top 5 in the FHSAA State Championship four straight years (2010-2013) while capturing six straight (2010-2015) District Titles and three Regional (2010-2012) Championships. In the past four years eight of our players have gone on to play Division I Golf for such storied programs as Florida, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Augusta State. In 2011, I was selected as the SFPGA SW Chapter Junior Leader.
Growing up in Iowa and playing golf since age four, my career in the golf industry was meant to be. As a state champion in high school, I began my experiences teaching the game of golf at a young age, and have continued my ongoing passion for helping others lower their scores. I moved to Florida to pursue my degree in PGA Golf Management at Florida Gulf Coast University, where I studied under several great mentors in the golf industry. I enjoy working with individuals of all skill levels and abilities—from the beginner to the low-handicap player—my expertise as a PGA Teaching Professional is sure to help your game. I offer many different instructional settings, from individual to group lessons (adults and juniors), clinics, putting lessons utilizing SAM PuttLab, playing/course management lessons, Operation 36 long-term coaching programs, and many programs geared to growing women’s golf. Whether you have been playing the game for a lifetime, or you are brand new to golf, I have the instructional environment for you.
I am a PGA Class A Member and have been teaching in the Naples area since 2002. I was the Head Golf Professional for 17 summers at Fishers Island, located off the coast of Long Island, and I have been nominated by my peers for Teacher of the Year in the Connecticut Section PGA, South Florida Section PGA 2011-2014 and won the Teacher of the Year for Southwest Florida Chapter of the PGA in 2014.
I received Honorable Mention for US Kids Top 50 Instructors list for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. I won the Junior Leader award for the Southwest Florida Chapter of the PGA for 2010 and completed Level I and Level II Golf Coaching Certification. I am TPI Level II Junior Certified and Golf Machine Certified as well. Over the past eight years, nine of my high school students have gone on to earn College Golf Scholarships. Trackman 2 certified.
