Bobby’s Answer

Henrik Stenson is the defending Champion this week at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, NC.  Henrik has an unusual head movement during his swing that actually improves his impact.

Watch as I teach what you can learn from Henrik Stenson’s head movement during the swing.

  1. Stenson’s head turns but does not come up. For the vast majority of us hackers out there, when we turn our head, it comes up, and that is a death move that thousands of us suffer from constantly.

    1. Patrick,
The key is to rotate the head, not come out of spine angle which often happens with many golfers but is due to several factors. Stenson does this so well.

  2. Is he still able to look at where he’s wanting hit by rotating his head or is he that good not to “watch” the impact?

    1. David,
Good question as obviously Tiger and other great players watch the ball at impact, while Stenson, Dustin Johnson and many others don’t. The key again is what you need to do to improve your impact and work objectively on that! Rotating the head might help Stenson, but doesn’t neccesarily help everyone.

    1. Ken,
Many great players watch the ball at impact, while Stenson, Dustin Johnson and many others don’t. The key again is what you need to do to improve your impact and work objectively on that! Rotating the head might help Stenson, but doesn’t neccesarily help everyone. Many golfers are told to keep their head down thus disengaging the workhorse and negatively affecting the dynamics at impact.
      To better impact,
      Bobby

So Bobby, why not start the swing in the impact position? It seems to me that would simplify the ability to be there at impact.
