Question

I have a four-inch-in-front swing bottom, but I still take small divots. Help!

Bobby’s Answer

Great question, Mark. And the short answer is- to eliminate small divots, you’ve got to work on getting into the ground. Part of that is activating the workhorse. See what I mean in today’s video.

  1. Ok, I’m 74 yrs young. My problem lately (I’ll just use my 5 iron as an example) hitting 150 yds I am finding that I pull my shot way left of target. My ball placement is fairly even with my left heel and I’m hitting Callaway X22 irons with graphite, senior shafts. If I weaken my grip a little I tend push the shot to the right. I use a fairly neutral overlap grip and my swing speed is 94 mph according to my Golf Buddy. I play at least twice a week with a 12.7 hdcp as of 10/01/2016

  2. Winter is coming soon in Canada. How can I practice the forward swing bottom and taking a divot indoors on mats?

  3. Sorry, but I just don’t think there is a correct size for a divot. What difference does it make as long as you hit it out of the sweet spot with an attack angle that you like?
