Bobby’s Answer

Most golfers struggle with pitching and it is such a key to not only developing a good short-game, but the foundation of the whole golf swing. Bobby shows you how to develop good dynamics on this shot in this Golf Channel Academy special tip.

  1. An excellent lesson, Bobby, that I have had the feel of at times in the past but needed your words to confirm and crystallize.

  2. I HAVE TROUBLE WITH KEEPING DOWN OF IRON SHOTS AND END UP TOPPING SHOTS, WHICH IS LEADING TO HIGH HANDICAP, ANY DRILLS THAT MIGHT HELP ME

    1. Joseph,
Can me many causes of this. I would have to see your swing before I could give you the remedy!
      To better impact,
      Bobby

  3. Bobby I remember when you were at BYU what a great golfer you became thanks for the tips. I’m 77 and Stella one handicap but I’m always learning!

    1. Rick,
Your issue is Aspect #4, finding the middle of the clubface. Work on the 5 dynamics first, that gives you the greatest margin of error from which to hit shots.
      To better impact,
      Bobby

  4. Bobby. I’m using your club lag tip as well as the medicine ball exercise to build up the hip & leg muscles. This along with club lag have improved my distance considerably. I can tell it’s working because I have soreness in the left hip. Is this normal?

    1. Richard,
Shortening the swing requires adjustments in the set up to get the same impact!
      To better impact,
      Bobby

  5. Excellent advice Bobby. By loading and holding, the short game has improved significantly as well as the entire iron game.

  6. Years of difficulty getting on my left side through impact. Is there a GOOD drill to correct this frustrating swing flaw ?

Attend your class several years ago! Since then have had some heath problem including heart surgery and age. Have problem with tempo and balance.Any suggestions to help with those problems?

    1. Bob,
Thanks for circling back, it’s good to hear from you. I was looking at your training space and saw what huge improvement you made on Dynamic #1, and how you increased your clubhead speed by 6 mph during my school. Have you kept it up? Any repercussions from the surgery? Tempo and Balance are rooted in the feet and the workhorse. I see your Swing Catalyst Balance Plate information from the school, but we now have the new Swing Catalyst 3D Motion Pressure plate which gives us so much more information that will improve Balance, Power and Tempo. Are you back in the Naples area?
      To better impact,
      Bobby
