Golf Grip Pressure

I watched your Lag DVD, and you say you want our grip to be relaxed. But shouldn’t there be quite a bit of tension in order to produce the quantity and quality of lag you talk about?

Yes, your grip should be relaxed, but not too relaxed! I explain in this video.

  1. I’m new to the game and in my 2nd year of golf. I’ve been doing everything I can to be a better golfer. Not trying to be great just trying to play for fun. I can’t do that because I continue to slice my ball. I look in front of the ball and think about impact zone. Can you help me not slice my ball please and thank you

  2. You keep “the angle” by leading the downswing with the legs and lower body.
    The head should be behind the back of the ball.

  3. Your grip on THE handle as to be THE softest possible ,combined with very loose wrists .
    THE best exersise I know to train your lag is THE one promoted by ancien t golf star ,JOHNNY REVOLTA ,with THE REVOLTA FORMULA : one two three swing :it trains perfectly your hands to produce More lag .

Thanks for all the great tips! I really enjoy them, but I need your help. I’m an 8 handicap player and score okay, however, I know I save the shot with my hands and want the feeling of being able to let it go through impact. Any tips or drills to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bobby,

I strike the ball on the sweet spot, most when I keep my left arm straight on the back swing. This shows me my true flexibility- or should I say lack of! And I can only turn about to the 9 o’clock, or parallel to the ground position. I’m 66 and play four or five times a week. Where does the straight-left arm fit in your impact teaching, or does it?
