Question

Analysis of Raymond Floyd at Impact

October 18, 2018

Bobby’s Answer

The last time the US Ryder Cup team won on European Soil was 25 years ago.  The team was led by 51 year old Ray Floyd, the oldest Ryder Cup player ever, who won both of his Saturday matches paired with partner Payne Stewart.  Ray was also the successful playing captain of our US victory in the 1981 US vs. Japan All Star Match.  Ray’s leadership helped me to claim the individual honors by 7 strokes which was one of the biggest wins of my career.

The Hall of Famer had a swing modeled by no one, yet the Masters Champion was one of the most successful golfers of all time.

Recently on the Golf Channel, I talked about what made Raymond Floyd’s swing so great.

Comments

  1. Ray Floyd was fun to watch and he was a great competitor. That team was fantastic!! Wonderful presentation.
